The White House
Within a hundred yards of our front door lies the start of miles and miles of forest with it’s labyrinth of paths and cycle tracks, hidden lakes and ponds, and it’s varied wildlife. Here the patient and quiet walker can see rare birds like Goshawks, Kites and Wrynecks, and at Symonds Yat, the Peregrines, that every year raise their young on the sheer cliffs over-looking the River Wye. While deeper into the forest you may be lucky enough to see some of the many Deer, Badgers and Foxes that abound. If you’re really lucky (if that’s the right word) you may even get to see one of the fabled “Big Cats” that are being seen more and more.
